Here's for keeping track of who's doing what and what they're interested in doing.
Nothing here is set in stone, but the OP is intended to be a place where the current baseline can be set and referenced easily.
Teams:
currently three major, Art, Program, Sound.
Art:
current plan is that the major character work needs to be divided between several people. Some work will need to be produced as collaboration, some can be done individually. Character work is going to be a massive undertaking.
Example:
each character 1 frame static, 1 frame for the kill, which is 6 different things it can kill.
so that leaves 12 characters, with 1+6 frames. That's 84 frames of art to do. It's a shitload. So for now I'm suggesting just the character judders when these things happen with sound accompanying the kill. Suggestion would be that no frame is made by an individual, instead made by two minimum.
Possible processes:
Linework (outline only) -> Detail work -> Colour work -> Finalize detail (ensure edges are okay etc)
Linework (outline only) -> Detail work -> Colour work
Linework+Detail -> Colour work
So anything from 2-4 people. Everyone should do some kind of concept and idea gathering job. Best start some idea/mood boards of what you'd like out of the game, and all agree on a theme.
Team members (?):
Chen
TL777
Okashii
Other Art:
Board(s)
Background
Menu
UI
Menu and UI are ideally one person. Board and Background another.
Team members (?) dunno if it's worth specifying though :
Programming:
Main elements of program:
Menu
relatively small job, needs to talk to network module and set up the board.
Networking Module
biggish job but can be inefficient, chess isn't time critical.
Board Module
Holds variables, hands control to different modules of the program
Animation Module
Takes in old and new positions of a move, creates outcome, tells board when animation is done.
Select/Move Module
UI driver for the Board. Allows clicking a specific character on the board to move them to another, tells the board the new position when it's confirmed.
A Critical element here is deciding a language. I'm thinking C++. I've never used it, but all the tutorials on the net I've ever found for anything are ALWAYS C++. So it's probably the best option for getting us all rolling to use the language everyone writes how to use. JAVA is an unstable ass I'd rather avoid if I can be frank and upset LTP slightly...
Team:
Torpedo - Preffered Task Board and Rendering Engine
Ax
Maaaaybe LTP might be a potential?
Sound:
Gotta have some VA's for those grills when it all goes wrong/right for them. Maybe even some Sexy gruff voice can voiceover the menu options perhaps, not pointing out anyone.
Sound Director:
Thundr
So, basically, discuss below what needs changing, what you want to do, and I'll update this or whoever else has permission.
Dunno if this means I'm like a manager or something. Dunno, tell me if I'm a bossy shit and overthinking this.
